Rachel Parks Liu is a multimedia artist primarily focused in writing, photography, textile, and book arts. Her photographic work explores ideas of relationship dynamics through heavily staged portraiture. She is heavily influenced by Duane Michals and Carrie Mae Weems. Her written work focuses on dialogues between works of art, design objects, films, fashion, and music, among other things as they relate to personal experience and takes a critical approach inspired by the writing of Maggie Nelson, Zadie Smith, and Robert Adams. For her garment creations she uses antique textiles to create original pieces. (Instagram: @raxhlu)
