Poetry, a Breaking Wave: Spilling, Plunging, Collapsing, Surging — Workshop with Lara Mimosa Montes
In this five-session workshop, we'll think through the script/treatment as a poetic form. As we think together on image, text, and voice, we’ll look primarily at short films and poems that engage film/a cinematic notion in their work to consider what it means to read in motion, and to make motion in reading, and develop our own poem-scripts. Potential readings and viewings include Su Friedrich, Cauleen Smith, Sky Hopinka, Justin Philip Reed, Essex Hemphill, Hollis Frampton and others.
