Allison Arteaga Argumedo is an interdisciplinary artist investigating land speculation, national amnesia and indigenous architecture. She’s interested in the language of buying and selling, psychogeographic wanderings, and the evil demon of images. In the keys of autofiction and autoconstrucción, she writes and draws as she speaks.
Allison holds an MFA in Cross-Disciplinary Literary Arts from Brown University and a BFA from Cornell University, where she won the Charles Baskerville Award. Her image-text practice has been supported by Pocoapoco, the Vermont Studio Center, the Laundromat Project, the Dark Laboratory and the New York Latin American Art Triennial. Recent work can be found in b l u s h, the Panacea Review and upcoming in Brink.
Born in Peru, Allison is based in Queens.
