Ica Sadagat’s work attends to the body as text, text as material, and material as collective practice. Her writing can be found in Apogee, Fence Magazine, Underblong,Nightboat Books blog, and elsewhere. Ica has performed at Swiss Institute / Contemporary Art New York, Thinking Its Presence, BAM, UC Santa Cruz, Cue Art Foundation, Smith College, ICA at VCU, and more. A trained crisis counselor and DV survivor advocate, Ica founded Sadagat School of Motion and Text (SSMT) in 2022 to create more spaces for dynamic listening, guerilla poetics, and embodied possibilities.
