Jean-Philippe Antoine is Emeritus Professor of History and Theory of Contemporary Art at Paris 8 University. His research concerns images and the social construction of Memory, as well as modern definitions of art. He has written about Mike Kelley, Marcel Broodthaers, Gerhard Richter, and Joseph Beuys, or theorists such as George Kubler, Gabriel Tarde, Stanley Cavell. An artist, he works with painting, installations, soundworks and lecture-performances.
