Lara Mimosa Montes is a writer, editor, and teaching artist whose practices span the fields of alternative publishing and experimental writing. She is most recently the author of THRESHOLES (Coffee House Press, 2020). Her writing has appeared in Amant, BOMB, Futurepoem, The Poetry Project, and elsewhere. She teaches poetry at the University of Minnesota and is currently working on a novel. Her writing practice gravitates toward processes and phenomena that exhibit change or transformation as their defining features. She seeks to document through language the moments when certain bodies and cellular configurations spontaneously decide to materialize in ways that cannot be accounted for.
