Michael Cavuto is a poet living in Ridgewood, Queens. His latest book is Pyre (Spiral Editions, 2025). In collaboration with the experimental musician Henry Fraser, he recently performed his work in New York City, the Hudson Valley, North Carolina, and Toronto. His poetry and essays have been published in Poetry Project Newsletter, The Brooklyn Rail, DiSonare, Some, The Tiny, Blazing Stadium, among other places, and he is a founding editor of the Slow Poetry in America Newsletter and auric press. At Duke University, he studies and teaches poetics through the doctoral program in English, where he works closely with the poet Nathaniel Mackey.
