Nobutaka Aozaki

Nobutaka Aozaki is a New York-based interdisciplinary artist born in Kagoshima, Japan. He has been awarded the Artist Files Grant from A Blade of Grass Foundation and the Artists’ Fellowship from New York Foundation for the Arts. His work has been shown at Japan Society, Brooklyn Museum, Queens Museum, Sculpture Center, ISCP, and he has performed at the Whitney Museum. He has participated in the LMCC’s Workspace Residency program, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, the Queens Museum Studio Program. He is currently in the Sharpe Walentas Studio Program. Recent publications include Spike Art Quarterly, New York Times, Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, ArtAsiaPacific, and Cabinet Magazine. He has published two artist books, Memorial: 53 Mosquitoes and Chocolate Composition. Nobutaka holds an MFA from Hunter College.
