Sam Max (b. 1995, USA) is a writer and director for film and stage, working in New York and Berlin. Recently, his play Double Serpent was selected for Berliner Festspiele's Theatertreffen as one of the "10 Most Remarkable Productions in Germany," and it was subsequently nominated for Vienna's Nestroy Prize for Best Performance in the German Speaking World. The original English script will be published by Ugly Duckling Presse. Sam's directorial work plays frequently in the repertoire at Deutsches Theater Berlin, and his short films have played over three-dozen festivals internationally. Sam has written for BUTT Magazine, Movement Research Performance Journal, and Arcane Press, among others.
