The Poetry Project

Sanja Grozdanić

Sanja Grozdanić lives and works in Berlin. Across text, performance, and film, her work attends to the slippages between public and private grief, anxiety, and imagination. Recent writings have appeared in Momus, Decolonial Hacker, The White Review, The Griffith Review, TANK, and Pilot Press, among others. She has performed at institutions including centrale fies, documenta fifteen, Stroom Den Haag, and The Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (forthcoming). Her work frequently invokes the leftist histories of former Yugoslavia: she is currently finishing work on a project with artist Jelly Luise which takes present-day protests against lithium mining in Serbia as a jumping-off point to capture the shadows of radical strikes and movements in the twilight years of the socialist republic. She is a 2023 Laureate of the Principal Residency Programme at La Becque and is a 2024 Momus Critical Writing fellow.
