
YATTA (aka. ricky sallay zoker) is a Sierra Leonean-American artist, musician, and poet. Their approach to sound and performance is characterized by textural electronic sounds, improvisation, sampling, spirituality, and surprise. Over the years, YATTA has shared the stage with artists like Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Laaraji, and The Sun Ra Arkestra. Their album WAHALA, released to critical acclaim, served as the foundation for An Episode: Ricky’s Room, a theatrical production commissioned by The Shed.In 2020, YATTA released Dial Up, a collaborative album with Moor Mother (Camae Ayewa). Their most recent record, PALM WINE, was named one of The Wire’s Best Albums of 2024. ricky’s installations, writing, and performance work have been presented at places like MOMA, MOCA, MOMA PS1, The Kitchen, The Getty, Issue Project Room, Roulette, and more.
