#273 – Summer 2023

Close-up photograph of a person 3/4 turned from the camera. The composition goes from just below the chin to just above the breasts; furthest from the camera is a the rise of a right shoulder. The subject's Black skin is covered in perspiration and reflecting glares of bright sunlight. Behind them is a cloudless blue sky. Down the front centerline of their body, a line of shark's teeth is affixed piece by piece. The cumulative effect is that of an exoskeleton spine. Each tooth casts a shadow across the left side of the subject's chest.
