Spring 2025 Volunteer and Intern Potluck and Reading

The Poetry Project is thrilled to celebrate two recent translations of experimental Latin American poetry: Peruvian poet and art researcher Rodrigo Quijano’s An Inherent Tear (Wendy’s Subway, 2024), trans. Judah Rubin, and Mexican poet bruno darío’s Lantana, or The Indissoluble Exhalation (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2025), trans. Kit Schluter. In dynamic, extraordinary verse, Quijano and darío meditate on premature death and taunt an unlivable world in caustic invective. darío: “They laid me off at work for showing up every day on all fours… My boss didn’t believe it because, well, he’s my dad.” Quijano: “Today I saw a poster that said / STOP SUFFERING / but I didn’t believe it.”
This event will also be livestreamed for free on the Project's YouTube channel.
