The Nero Complex, or, For a Psychopathology of Settler-Colonialism: A Dis/Course Workshop with Alberto Toscano
This session will chart a geography of political undergrounds as a location of language and possibility. Departing from a close reading of Chapter 16 from Assata Shakur's autobiography which describes her journey underground, we will consider ways of being and moving that require being unseen — together we will write, remember, and notice some paths hidden in plain view. Is a political underground possible in our age of digital surveillance and location-sharing? Is it desirable? Could you find your way to it? What and who would meet you there?
