The Poetry Project

Eddy Wang

Eddy, a Chinese man with dark hair, sits in a black chair atop ivory tiles, surrounded by a white pillar and glass paneling. He is wearing a pink button up shirt, dark slacks, and a brown belt. His hand rests against his left ear. He looks to the left of the frame at an angle, with a smile.

Eddy Wang is a critical theorist, film theorist, multi-media artist, and software developer. His research and practice orbit around questions posed by phenomenology, psychoanalysis, auto-theory, affect theory, Chinese melancholia, and continental philosophy. He explores many mediums, blending together sound art, film, film theory, computer programming, and writing—his interdisciplinary approach playfully splatters aesthetics and technical devices together. He is part of the band Ira Dot and likes to dream in melody. He received his Master’s at the University of Toronto. Currently, he is working on a project on everydayness.
