Hoa Nguyen is a poet and professor of creative writing and poetics at Toronto Metropolitan University. Born in the Mekong Delta and a dual citizen of the US and Canada, her work is rooted in transnational, transtemporal, and border-crossing perspectives. She is an integral member of She Who Has No Master(s), a project of collectivity, hybrid poetics, encounters, in-between spaces and (dis)places of the Vietnamese diaspora; her recent work with the collective includes a Mass MoCA residency and multimedia poetry installations and performances at Moving Poets Berlin and the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art’s Time-Based Festival. She is the author of six poetry collections, including Violet Energy Ingots and A Thousand Times You Lose Your Treasure (both from Wave Books).
