The Poetry Project

Marc Solomon

First contact with the Poetry Project came by listening to poets read. More complete participation came through attending a workshop. A more decisive turn came when I continued to write on my own and continued attending readings and further workshops, especially throughout the epidemic, by ZOOM.

After the pandemic I changed my focus from painting to writing, although I have been included in the last four yearly alumni shows at the New York Studio School. The situation is not that one obsession has bumped another out of central attention, so much as they both share the same bench. Still, in terms of energy and contributions, I feel more involved with the people at the Poetry Project than with the Studio School since the death of its former Dean.
