Peter Mills Weiss & Julia Mounsey

Peter Mills Weiss and Julia Mounsey are shown in a landscape-oriented color photograph, leaning at a round wooden table. The image is cropped such that about have of the table is visible in the foreground. They are both leaning on the table, Peter with both forearms, hands clasped; Julia with one forearm. They both wear black shirts and are looking directly at the camera. In the background there appears to be a bar or venue. A jukebox is faintly visible in the deep background.

Peter Mills Weiss and Julia Mounsey collaborate together on works for the stage. Their work wrestles with questions of cruelty, authenticity, deception, entertainment, and power. Their plays have been presented at Under the Radar at the Public Theater, La MaMa, JACK, Soho Rep, the Deutches Schauspielhaus, and the Radikal Jung festival at the München Volkstheater. They were both members of the 2017–2019 Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, the 2017–2018 Devised Theater Working Group at the Public Theater, and were Baryshnikov Arts Center Resident Artists in 2019. Their play, while you were partying, was a finalist for the New York Drama Critic's Circle Award. Upcoming projects include Open Mic Night (a NYFA commission with JACK Arts Space) and Bag of Worms (featured at IDFA Amsterdam 2022).
