ants on a log

imogen xtian smith

xxxxx with lines from Eileen Myles & Miguel Gutierrez

i am always thirsty & wanting
to have sex. When you get
right down to it, a jar of peanut
butter works just as well as some
silicon egg—the oily scrim
all smooth & creamy, mixed
thick w girl-dick spoon.
It’s sweet, our picnic
like ants on a log, take turns
for lick & teethe. Ambition-
less i waste the day
think of you leaning into me
smoking, peering out
my little window
as possibilities grow
& shrink &
i miss you, i’m glad
we don’t know each other
cuz i only want the most listless
things, like crying after
coming in the crooks
of aisles or alleys or sand
dunes—as sweet, average
& naïve as me—
bag of swollen skin
sticky sticky w cum
w fecal dirt soiled
& spread eagle upwards
scumming for pleasure xxxfirst
as means xxxthen as means
again
