From “rolling windows”

Chris Campanioni

rhythm glimpses in passing
as it ripples across a bodice
or bodiless corset
archaic, alteration
of bodies—alliteration

of an exit sign
in french or the sign
itself, the rhythm
again: a desire
as movement, or feedback

loop in which
I continually shrink
into the other across
the screen I wanna
know your search history

I wanna feel
your message when
I receive it when you are
received by me
now my neighbor

playing her face
live as I type this we’re
expecting a smooth
ride over the atlantic &
pleasant weather

v.5.o
I really admire your body of work I mean I really admire the work coming out of your body I mean I really admire how your body works I mean I really admire both work & bodies working both the body & the body of work the work & what’s outside the work the words & the mouth that feels the words the lips that taste the words the ears that hear the words the digits that write them in the work or on the body

v.9.o
he asked how I liked it & I said well
it stays in your mouth

v.15.o
it’s so hard
to imagine what
a person is
thinking I always think
you can only
put your own
stuff in another’s body

v.17.1
I am thinking about an arc of sweat just below
the collarbone, a face when its body
is about to erupt, & the eruptive breath
itself, the way the head seems to
open up & unfold like the world
against a half-held mouth, the lean in
a hip half twisted & divorced
of context by discontinuity &
misplacement they each become somehow
more intimate   in the absence of event
lies mood which is
deeper you know
before language or just coming to
language   again
