Reading

Jess Abughattas & Jackie Ess

Jess AbughattasStrip is a convertible ride through the uncanny valley — poems that veer in and out of disassembly and desire, cinema and semantics, mythologies of self and place. Jackie EssDarryl is by turns a pastoral, a murder mystery, a cross-textual fantasia, all through the voice of a self-identified cuck molting away at artifice. In works that swing with intuition and surprise, Abughattas and Ess bring us into those deeply felt observations that surface with most brilliance from an edge.
