Please join the Poetry Project and Nightboat in celebrating the publication of Assotto Saint's Sacred Spells: Collected Works.
Assotto Saint was a dancer, poet, writer, critic, artist, AIDS activist, multi-hyphenate and unhyphenatably-singular figure in queer, Black, and Haitian arts and literary cultures of the 1980s and early 1990s. This astonishing collection of over 500 pages gathers Saint's poetry, plays, fiction, and performance texts, and is a testament to Saint's multidimensional and deeply felt, held, and sustained influence on contemporary arts and culture.
We hope you can join us at 7 pm for a pre-event reception!
This in-person event will also be livestreamed via The Poetry Project's YouTube. Livestream captions will be available via a StreamText link or the CC button on YouTube's player.
