Reading

Jonathan González & Alexander Ghedi Weheliye

An evening of experiments with critical form featuring the interdisciplinary artist Jonathan González and scholar Alexander Ghedi Weheliye. Weheliye will offer a reading distilled from his highly anticipated new book, Feenin: R&B Music and the Materiality of BlackFem Voices and Technology, and González will share an excerpt from their in-progress manuscript, Ways To Move: Black Insurgent Grammars in the Modern Calculus, entitled, “Frequencies of Black Assembly.” The performance artist Marguerite Hemmings will perform an embodied score as an adjacent activation to González’s reading.

Please join us for a reception beginning at 7! Advanced copies of Weheliye's Feenin will be available for purchase.
