Plant This Poem: an earth day celebration organized by Eleni Sikelianos and Imani Elizabeth Jackson
xx

Please join us for a virtual party-poem-planting in celebration of Earth Day. Plantings will take multiple forms: short eco-readings from Saretta Morgan, Ed Roberson, and Maricela Guerrero with translator Robin Myers; a screening from Chloe Zimmerman; a call to action from Brenda Hillman; and a writing experiment from Eleni Sikelianos and Imani Elizabeth Jackson. As a nod to Richard Brautigan’s Please Plant this Book, party-goers will be mailed a limited edition miniature broadside on seed-paper.

Calendula

My friends worry and they tell me
About it. They talk of the world
ending, of darkness and disaster.
I always listen gently, and then
say: No, it's not going to end. This
is only the beginning, as this book
is only a beginning.
